Visual theater of Tamás Galambos

„Great many cars are jammed behind the cross with Jesus Christ in a gas mask, but one can also see the magical landscape that forms an embracing couple from thousands of flowers – the richness of details flows through everything, yet at the same time everything is carefully planed and precisely edited.”1

An exceptional exhibition of Tamás Galambos’s singularly varied and multi-colored artworks is coming to the Faur Zsófi – Ráday Gallery.
The Galambos exhibition, which was previously featured at the gallery’s former
location in 2009, enthralled many admirers - old and new. The current solo exhibition is likely to stimulate even more experiences about the work of this uniquely individual language realizing artist. In the catalogue of the Contemporary Art from Hungary series, Tibor Wehner characterizes the most important aspects of the artist’s work: decorative stylized motifs of
scenery exude a multitudee of figures, like bitterly ironic puppets. The artist’s rich motif-world has been applied to familiar symbols but in a completely new and different context, and the creative thinking of the artist brings order to the theatrical scenes that often evoke chaos.
The work of Tamás Galambos will delight all art lovers, especially the fans of
contemporary Hungarian art.
